Here at Music City Turf we understand that for most of our clients they have been dreaming about this project for years and have a list of questions. Here are some of the most frequent questions our clients ask, please "contact us" with any additional questions.
Instead of traditional nylon “short pile” putting greens, we install a very complex sand-filled system containing 7-8lbs per SF of 3 different-sized sand grains mixed and layered in a very specific way. This gives your green the ability to hold a shot like a real grass green from 300 yards out— if you can hit it.
When you build these for players who play for a living, it has to be realistic. It has to be authentic. These guys can lose 6 figure checks from missing 4-foot putts, so the details for us are extremely important.
Whether you are a PGA professional or not, your installation is done by the same installers who take attention to detail to the highest level.
Designed for longevity, our installations last decades. We were originally taught & trained by some of the original pioneers of the industry, who have installations 25-30+ years old that still look great. And the technology used to manufacture artificial grass has only improved since then.
Yes, our turf is non-toxic and safe. For maintenance, use our OxyTurf cleaning system to keep the area hygienic and free from bacteria, ensuring a safe play environment. Regular brushing and debris removal will maintain its appearance and functionality.
We refuse to use anything less than the highest quality yarn on the market. This keeps us from being the cheapest installer but ensures the safety of your family & pets. The reason is that artificial grass not manufactured in the USA is NOT required to go through testing for lead, chemicals, or other contaminants. You can save dollars per SF on cheaper carpets without these standards or made outside the USA. This means we could make a lot more money, especially after installing over 1,000,000+ SF in middle Tennessee alone, but we simply refuse to do so.
Our turf is built to endure all weather, offering quick drainage and UV resistance for year-round use.
While initial costs are higher, savings on water and maintenance make it a cost-effective solution over time. Growing natural grass in middle Tennessee is tough. We are right in the middle of what’s called the “Transition Zone.” You can have two types of grass: cool season or warm season. Most people here like a tall fescue (cool season grass) because it stays green through winter and holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc). Warm-season grass goes dormant during this time, giving a brown or “dead” look until soil temperatures rise again above a certain point the following spring.
The issue with cool-season grass is that it will struggle, too. Not during the winter but in June, July, and August, when we see 100+ degree temperatures outside. This causes anyone with tall fescue to have to aerate and overseed every fall to fill in thin or burn spots from the previous summer heat.
Next, with both types, you have to worry about weeds. There are winter and summer annual weeds. These both require a pre-emergent herbicide application to help combat, plus spot treating every month with multiple systemic and contact specialty herbicides depending on the weed varieties you have. This means more chemicals for your kids and pets to come into contact with.
This seems like a lot, but that’s not all! With both types, not only will you never see “green” 12 months out of the year, but to remain healthy, you also have to worry about irrigation and adequate watering, disease and costly fungicide applications (more chemicals), and fertilizer application with nitrogen and iron repeatedly throughout the year.
When we install our luxury artificial grass, you cancel ALL of this out, which is why our turf can add 10-15% to the value of your home. We know installations are not cheap, but do the math on that with your most recent home appraisal, and you can see it’s an investment with instant equity!
Our golf greens are completely custom and cut/shaped by hand on-site. We can customize size, shape, 1st & 2nd cut fringe, bunkers with turf or real sand fillings, and even Scottish stacked sod bunkers! We only use 6in USGA aluminum cups, which adds to the attention to detail in every green.
Minimal upkeep is needed. Regular brushing and prompt debris removal keep it in top condition.
Our process includes site assessment, preparation, and meticulous turf installation, ensuring optimal quality and minimal disruption.
We provide a 1-year warranty on the workmanship of the installation, and our turf manufacturer warranties range from 10-15yr depending on the application. That even covers fading in color from the sun, fibers coming apart from children or pets, etc.
Yes, should your turf suffer from damage, it can be repaired. We offer services to restore its appearance and functionality, ensuring your investment remains pristine.
